This book is a real gem. It is written in a warm, engaging manner and is very easy to read. For such a small book, it contains a wealth of information from a person with extensive knowledge and experience, who is obviously an expert in the topic.

This booklet reflects the author's enormous experience in standardization. It's absolutely practice oriented and "spiced " with many examples. It addresses the operational level as well as the strategic management level. It covers the standardization work outside the company and how to make best use for the company. A must for all standardization novices and practioners
- Standardization, Challenge and Opportunity is a must read for anyone involved in the world of standards. It is also highly recommended for others who want to learn more about tools for the concept of "Prevention through Design." Standards play a huge role in identifying and mitigating risks before they come into the workplace or marketplace. The challenge is to understand the process of how standards work.
While written mainly about EU and ISO, the book also applies to the US process of standardization. In the latter part of my automotive career, I became heavily involved with US and global standards. This book would have been invaluable in better understanding how things work.
Excellent reference for anyone interested in understanding the complex and sometimes confusing world of standards....

"The best compendium on the topic of standardization I have ever seen. It shows the entire wide spectrum of the subject, from economic and company policy to practical work with and on standards."
